Our Core
Distinctives
Centered On The Gospel.
We love the gospel. It is the only message of salvation, the key to spiritual transformation, the foundation of Christian unity, and the source of our true identity. Furthermore, the gospel is the main point of the Bible. For all of these reasons, we are constantly encouraging each other with its message.
(Acts 20:24; Rom. 3:21-22; 1 Cor. 2:2; 15:3; Gal. 1:8-9; 2:20; Phil. 1:27; Col. 1:5-6)
Based on Scripture
God has given us an incredible gift in the Bible. It is inspired, inerrant, sufficient, clear, and authoritative. This is why we strive to interpret every passage within its proper grammatical and historical context and train others to do the same, making the point of the text, the basis of all instruction in the church. This is also why we practice expositional preaching on Sunday morning, preaching verse- by-verse through whole books of the Bible.
(Deut. 12:32; Ps. 19:7-11; Matt. 28:19-20; Acts 20:20, 27; 1 Tim. 3:15; 2 Tim. 3:16-4:2)
Grounded In Grace
We believe that salvation is the result of God’s sovereign choice whereby He saves His elect people, thus displaying His immeasurable grace and glory. We believe this reality humbles us, fills us with gratitude, and compels us to worship Him and share His message of grace to all people.
(Romans 11:36; Ephesians 1:11; John 17:1–26; Ephesians 1:3–6; Romans 9:11)
Fervent In Prayer
We believe that prayer is more than just communicating with God, it is also one of the most vital ministries of the church. It is how Christians depend on God for the strength, wisdom, transformation, and power to fight in an ongoing spiritual battle.
(1 Tim. 2:1-2; Mark 11:17; Eph. 6:18; 2 Cor. 10:3-5)
Faithful In Worship
We believe Sunday mornings should focus on passionately worshipping God in Spirit and in truth through prayer, song, preaching, and celebrating the ordinances of baptism and communion. We desire to carefully guard these priorities from anything that would prevent God from receiving proper worship, befitting to His majesty.
(Matt. 4:10; Jn. 4:23- 24; Rom. 1:23-25; Rev. 4:11)
Unity in Diversity
We believe that God has created men and women with equal dignity and worth, while appointing differing and complementary roles for them within the home and the church, where men are called to be servant-leaders. Because these roles reflect God’s image in humanity, they should be valued and pursued in joy and faith.
(Genesis 1:26–28; Ephesians 5:22–33; 1 Timothy 2:8–15)
Devoted To Discipleship
We believe the church exists to display God's glory by being a community that is committed to making, maturing, and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ who pray for one another, speak the truth in love to one another, serve one another, and encourage one another in the faith. This is why we actively encourage church membership, personal discipleship, and active involvement in a church care group.
(Mark 12:31; Gal. 5:13-14; 6:1-3; James 5:19-20; 1 Pet. 4:10 1 Jn. 3:16-19)
Courageous in Evangelism
We do not retreat from, nor intend to be shaped by culture. We know that God has sent us to engage others boldly with the hope of the gospel in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ who go and make more disciples of Jesus Christ. For this reason, we are committed to being a community where the gospel is preached regularly, where people learn how to share the gospel with others, and where we actively seek to plant healthy churches and/or strengthen existing churches for the glory of God.
(Matt. 16:18; 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; 13:1-3; Rom. 10:14-15; 1 Cor. 9:19-23; Eph. 4:11, 15-16; 1 Pet. 3:15)
